PHOTOSHOPPING
Old, grey, torn, damaged images have been repaired as much as possible. Exposure, contrast and gamma correction have been adjusted to restore some quality. Scratches and tears have been removed. In the case of Arcand’s portrait at Boischatel (above), more was done: some background was added above his head and to his right in order to center him. Young Arcand reading was a very tiny image the size of a postage stamp in Jean Côté’s Adrien Arcand : une grande figure de notre temps (1994), online at archive.org. By a miracle, the image responded when radically enlarged.
